1. Necessary storage

The app uses cookies to keep you signed in and recognise your session. It also uses browser storage for account preferences and to avoid repeating certain requests. Some entries last for a session and others last until expiry, logout or removal. These functions support the service you ask to use and are separate from advertising. If you block necessary cookies, sign-in or other account features may not work correctly.

2. Preferences and the former demo

The public site and app may remember choices such as language, display preferences and your advertising decision. The discontinued website demo used a session identifier to associate messages with the correct conversation and an anti-abuse check that could process browser and connection information. The illustrative homepage example does not start a chat session or that anti-abuse check. These functions do not mean that you have agreed to advertising measurement.

3. Advertising is optional

When advertising measurement is enabled, public-page tags and server reporting start automatically unless you have stopped tracking or your browser sends a recognised Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. A visible notice and Advertising preferences let you stop it at any time. Stopping does not prevent browsing, registration or buying a plan. Enabled partners may receive public-page visits, plan selections, registration, the start of a free trial, checkout starts and confirmed payments linked to an active measurement context. Payment events use the actual value and currency. Events may include matching identifiers, but never your agents' conversation content. Marketing tags do not load on account or payment pages. Automatic collection is not treated as an affirmative consent action; accepting a privacy policy does not replace separate consent where the law requires it.

4. Partners and identifiers

Supported partners include Meta, TikTok, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X and Microsoft Advertising. Only the partners enabled and disclosed in the advertising controls are used. Depending on the partner, data can include page activity, ad-click and browser identifiers, IP address, browser information and a hashed email or account identifier. A partner may match these with information it already holds under its own privacy terms. Partner cookies and their lifetimes depend on that provider and your browser settings; they are not all controlled by Answer Act.

5. Stop or resume measurement

Open Advertising preferences in the site footer and choose Stop tracking. This browser remembers the refusal until you choose Allow tracking again or remove its stored choice. A separate opt-out cookie, lasting up to one year, shares that choice between the public site and app in the same browser. Measurement context and an explicit allowance normally last up to 30 days. Recognised Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep measurement off, even after a previous allowance. Signed-in users can also stop account-linked measurement in the app without the original browser. Stopping cancels pending eligible events and future reporting; it cannot recall data already received by a partner. You can remove partner cookies in your browser. Clearing browser storage alone does not withdraw an account-linked choice, and removing a browser-only refusal may allow automatic measurement to start again.
